Perth Now News hosted Pride of Australia in October 2014, at Fraser’s Restaurant in Kings Park.

A celebration with citrus colors was key to the design brief. I endeavored to make it look as bright and fun as possible, whilst still fitting in to the breakfast event style.

I am grateful for the trust the client gave me, and worked hard to source the perfect blooms for this very special event. I choose beautiful lime Cymbidiums as the focal, with locally grown mint Dianthus, Goldstrike and Wow roses, and Greenbird buttons, as well as seasonal Matricaria, Billy Buttons and (one of my favorites) Ranunculi. Classic Magnolia foliage gave the posy structure, with bright croton leaves framing the glass sphere sides.

Two mirror-image stage pieces included decor branches, and were arranged in hired neutral urns with matching plinths – this gave height and impact. There was also 3 matching presentation bouquets, which were arranged in a flat-back wrap for best display.

On the morning setup, I got to enjoy seeing the sunrise across our beautiful city – such a stunning view from Fraser’s. I had the pleasure of dealing with Fraser’s duty manager,  who was highly professional and kind, and also enjoyed the tunes that Rob Gater from Perth Audio Visual was playing, whilst setting up.

I was so glad that all the flowers went to a good home after the event, so that they could continue being enjoyed. Belinda Holmes (from Perth Now, who planned the event to run so smoothly) sent me this message after;  ‘Thanks again for your stunning arrangements… My house and I are loving them :-)”
